Jamaica will host the inaugural edition of the Curvy Caribbean Conference.
Scheduled for April 8 & 9 at the Worthington, Spanish Court in Kingston, the Curvy Caribbean Conference will be the first of its kind in the Caribbean with the objective of empowering curvy women in the region to love and embrace their bodies.
The brain-child of radio host and entrepreneur Alisia Jarrett, the event was officially launched on International Women’s Day, (Tuesday March 7).
It will be hosted by media personality Dahlia Harris who will also speak in a panel session. Other presenters include dance and fitness instructor Yendi Phillipps, Atlanta-based blogger NikkiFree Style, and international plus-size models Tessenie Mowatt and Tricia Campbell.
The conference will feature panel discussions and workshops with professional presenters in the fields of confidence and self-love, health and fitness, fashion and shopping.
Sessions include Yoga, Soca and Reggae Dance Classes; Love, Relationships and Dating, and How to Start Your Own You Tube Channel & Online Blogging.
Workshops will include Make Up and Hair for the Curvy Girl, Body Image, and focusing on health and not weight.
